Summary
Anxiety and depression levels have risen sharply in Gen Z adults. As digital natives, Gen Z navigate constant connectivity, comparison, and information overload, which can complicate emotional regulation and help-seeking. Although the impact of technology often receives the most attention, Gen Z’s distress reflects a broader combination of developmental, social, and environmental pressures. To effectively treat this generation, psychologists, licensed mental health professionals, medical personnel, and ministry leaders need to understand the unique characteristics that contribute to mental health disorders and the management of stress. This workshop will identify contributors to anxiety and depression, and tailor interventions that strengthen coping, resilience, and therapeutic alliance. Participants will gain practical tools to improve outcomes and enhance their work with this emerging generation of young adults.
